New York City TRN - TRN of the Year

Please join us in congratulating the New York City TRN for being recognized as a TRN of the Year!

About the New York City TRN:
Linda Kocieniewski is a psychotherapist in private practice in New York City. She joined the N.Y.C. Trauma Recovery Network on 9/11/01, when the NYC team formed after the attacks on the World Trade Center. For the next several years, she and the entire team helped many of their fellow New Yorkers recover from the trauma of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, especially the city’s first responders, those who escaped from the towers, and those who lost loved ones in the attack.

In March 2020, as New York City was being ravaged by the Covid-19 pandemic, Linda and many of her generous NYC colleagues again felt the need to step forward and help their city and fellow New Yorkers. They particularly wanted to support the many healthcare professionals and first responders who were struggling to care for so many very sick and dying New Yorkers, at great risk to their own physical and emotional health.

Linda contacted Trauma Recovery/HAP and volunteered to take on the role as the Coordinator of the NYC TRN. Since that time the team has grown from 18 members to the nearly 90 members they have today. The team has helped many doctors, nurses, E.M.T’s and paramedics, and other frontline healthcare professionals who care for Covid-19 patients to overcome the trauma and exhaustion of providing that care throughout the pandemic.

Linda is also an EMDRIA Approved Consultant who supervises EMDR therapists and is a facilitator at EMDR trainings in the N.Y.C. area. She was formerly the Clinical Director of a crime victims counseling program and two child abuse treatment programs in N.Y.C, and the past Director of a NYC Crisis Response Team. She has a specialty in trauma treatment and feels honored to be able to help alleviate the trauma and suffering of the first responders and healthcare professionals who are treating and helping so many New Yorkers.

Eva J. Usadi, MA, BCD, CGP is an EMDRIA-approved Consultant and serves as Clinical Consultant to the NYC TRN. She has worked closely with staff in providing clinical consultation and has provided the team advanced training in working with first responders. Eva is the Founder and Executive Director of Trauma and Resiliency Resources, and the creator and Clinical Director of its Warrior Camp® program. She is Certified in EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Group Psychotherapy.

In private practice in NYC, Ms. Usadi works with military veterans, first responders and civilians struggling with complex trauma and Moral Injury. She is a contract therapist for the FDNY, a Military Family Life Counselor for DoD, and a preferred provider for MSF (Doctors Without Borders.)

The NYC Trauma Recovery Network is a team of many excellent and very skilled, generous, caring mental health professionals who have gone above and beyond to give many hours of their time over the past year and a half to help their community. Members of the team are committed to working with first responders and healthcare professionals for as long as they are needed throughout and after the pandemic. "We are honored to be able to serve our community and to be a part of Trauma Recovery/HAP."
